Judge Allsberry's Bio
Greg was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. While still a college student in Chicago, he worked for the Christian Legal Society, an experience which influenced him to enroll in law school. He graduated from the Washington University School of Law in 1984, where he was chosen as Articles Editor for the Journal of Urban and Contemporary Law.
For the first half of his 30 years in private practice as an attorney, Greg tried numerous civil and criminal cases in Illinois and Missouri. He served as prosecuting attorney for the City of Frontenac for three years and for the City of Pagedale for more than 20 years. Long before the abuses in Ferguson became well known, Greg took steps in Pagedale to make sure that warrant recall fees collected by the city were credited toward defendants’ fines and courts costs and that multiple “failure to appear” charges were dismissed. He also served for several years as a 21st Judicial Circuit Special Representative, assisting the Missouri Bar in investigating ethical complaints against attorneys.
Greg opened a law office in Troy in 2001. He lives in Lincoln County with his wife, Karla, and their four children. He was elected as Associate Circuit Judge in 2014. In 2016, Greg was one of three judges nationally selected and awarded the John Shaw Field Scholarship by the National Counsel of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
